Fall is quickly approaching. What does that mean? Warmer clothes, hot food, thick comfy robes, and steaming coffee or chia! It’s the season of comfort foods and anything else that warms you up and makes you feel good inside.
Start thinking now about how to prepare for the cooler months ahead. Do you have warm-weather clothes to break out of storage? Blankets to add to beds? Quilts for snuggling on the couch?
Foods during this time of year call for lots of baking and batch cooking of soups and casseroles. The double-duty of warming up the house without cranking up a heater is an added bonus.
Keep in mind also that the holidays are approaching. If your family exchanges gifts, get your shopping done before the weather sours. Fighting winter storms will likely find you spending more than you intended and the frustration isn’t worth it.
Also, stock up on paper products and cleaning items so that you don’t run out during a time when a storm hits or a biting wind makes the trip painful.
The season change can be less shocking and less expensive with planning now.
