The Rotisserie Chicken

One of my favorite ready-made items is the rotisserie chicken I buy from Walmart. They cost under $5 and it’s amazing to me how many meals I can get from one bird. The key to getting the most from the purchase is to debone the chicken while it is warm.

After I have a container of bone-free meat, I then use it for chicken salad sandwiches, fried chicken pieces, and casseroles. I rarely save the carcasses to boil for broth, but if you’re a soup fan, this is a great way to get everything out and waste even less. I should put this on my list for winter cooking on Sundays.
