“Bottled” water

A year or so ago, I bought a gallon jug of water at the grocery store for less than $1. Once it was gone, I decided to fill it up from the tap and store it in the refrigerator. Since then, I have refilled that jug often, always storing it in the refrigerator so that cold water is available.

I think the family has been fooled into thinking they are drinking “real” bottled water. Not one complaint has been registered to date. Our bottled water expense has been zero all this time. My day job provides little bottles of water during meetings, so I also have a handy collection of bottles that I can refill and take when I’m on the road. Again, my cost continues to be zero.

When you’re working hard to save to buy income-producing investments, stop buying bottled water.
