Using the 7 Habits® to Build Wealth ~ Habit 6: Synergize®

In this seven-week series, we are using the book, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” by the late Stephen Covey, and applying it to the NDQ method and philosophy of building wealth.

Habit 6: Synergize

Covey calls Habit 6 the “habit of creative cooperation.” When people work together creatively, they have the ability to come up with something better than any of them could have done individually. We see this easily in the entertainment industry. Look at a movie and take stock of the end credits. Sometimes hundreds of names are compiled next to their area of expertise. Each person involved in a film takes an idea and with the help of everyone else turns an idea into a visual explosion of creative energy.

Building wealth is no different. You can accomplish some of this on your own, but to up your game you need to reach out and work with others. You might be working with consultants and professionals who can advise you, colleagues you may want to invest with so that you each grow your money more than you could alone, or you join a discussion group online to learn more from others doing the same thing with similar goals.

You don’t have to compromise, but you do have to be willing to work with others and have faith that your efforts will multiply.
